It’s 18:30, time to embark on the BIO Hesperides. It will be our home for at least 4 days and nights. It starts at 20:00 to leave Punta Arenas. It’s a big nave: 82 meters long and 18 meters large, at least 5 stages (étages). It’s a real maze! But it is a really classy, everything is in wood and they decorated it with a sense of elegance.

We are 54 researchers on boat and there are only 36 beds so we manage to shift turns to sleep on the floor. It is quite funny to be on a boat in a sleeping bag. Moreover, like that we learn to know other people because we have no choice to share a lot of stuff.
The food is good, it is surprising because I have been told so many things about how awful the food can be on a boat. Actually, it is really diverse and fresh. And of course, food: great lentil soup (not so different that the one I’m used to eat once a week).
