First of all, THE TEAM!

The team of the Blue-Bio project was composed by Conxita, Carlos, Philippe and I. Here some pictures of the great team we made together:

We work all hard for science and succeed 😊

That day was quite cold but the temperature of the water was 2.6°C. We went in a site called Pendulum. From the Zodiac I was able to see the fumaroles from the soil at the beach. It was really impressive! Moreover, I saw a seal really close for the first time.

During the dives, I always was on the Zodiac to help the divers with their material, the checks and the security. I had to look after their buoy and check if no leopard seal or any animal was getting to close of them, in case I had to prevent them. I also had to check the parameters of seawater and take 30 to 50 litters of seawater from the site. There were always two militaries with me on the Zodiac to drive it and to communicate with the base through the radio. Once the dive was finished I had to help the divers to get back on the Zodiac and hold the material (closing tanks, taking off the plombs, etc.). I always was a bit jealous of them because I was there with them but I couldn’t feel the sensation of being underwater, I couldn’t see anything. It was sad, but my new aim is to go back and dive in Antarctica, one day!
